In response to the evolving challenges of the digital age and with the aim of raising information security standards, the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) has adopted an updated Policy on Personal Data Processing and Protection. The document was developed as part of a pro bono initiative by Yaroslav Ognevyuk, Managing Partner at AMBASSADORS and a Member of the UBA Board, to enhance the institutional capacity of the legal professional community.
The Policy is based on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and is tailored to the specific operational context of non-profit organisations in Ukraine. Its primary goal is to establish a systematic, transparent, and sustainable approach to data processing within the UBA’s activities.
"Data protection is first and foremost an infrastructure of trust - only then is it a legal requirement. I am pleased that my professional experience and engagement with the UBA Board proved useful in developing a practical and standards-compliant framework for the Association," commented Yaroslav Ognevyuk.
Adopting the Policy marks a pragmatic step in refining the UBA’s internal data management processes. It will support the organisation in consistently and confidently meeting modern data protection requirements, demonstrating a responsible approach to digital security.
