Yaroslav Ognevyuk has over 20 years of experience successfully assisting clients in protecting their intellectual property rights and achieving business goals. His expertise covers the full range of services related to intellectual property protection, information technology, and litigation strategies.
Yaroslav is a master at developing innovative strategies for protecting trademarks, industrial designs, patents, and geographical indications and combating counterfeiting and unfair competition. He also handles complex cases in technology law, helping clients effectively address the challenges of the digital era, including data protection, IP, and regulatory issues for tech startups and innovations.
Along with several higher education degrees, he has completed the international Technology Law LLM program at a top university in the Baltic countries. This accomplishment enables him to apply his extensive practical experience and in-depth knowledge of specific technological regulations.
Yaroslav began his career as a legal advisor for a publishing group, later specializing in and eventually leading the litigation division of the Ukrainian Intellectual Property Office. Subsequently, he worked as a partner in a boutique IP agency and as the head of the intellectual property practice at one of Ukraine's largest law firms. This diverse experience allows him to approach any issue from multiple angles, easily navigate knowledge spaces, and effectively resolve even the most challenging client matters with innovative and unconventional solutions.

Experience
- Managed over 30 landmark cases to obtain well-known trademark status
- Successfully led litigation involving trademarks, patents, and industrial designs that have become precedential in the Supreme Court
- Achieved a record fine for a violator in an unfair competition case before the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine
- Coordinated an anti-counterfeiting case involving a record value of seized counterfeit goods
- Provided comprehensive protection for intellectual property rights during the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship in Ukraine
- Coordinated all legal matters during preparing and hosting the UEFA Champions League Women's and Men's Finals in Kyiv in 2018
- Secured anti-counterfeiting protection for an international company owning plant varieties
- Facilitated hundreds of successful customs seizures of counterfeit products at Ukraine's borders
- Halted illegal trade and secured the arrest of all production facilities of violators in the interests of an international tobacco company
- Supported approximately 30 patent infringement lawsuits concerning intellectual property rights for active ingredients in the pharmaceutical industry
- Coordinated over 200 successful cases protecting trademark rights, including claims for early termination, invalidation, and infringement
- Successfully handled more than ten cases against unfair competition, including similar packaging and trademark imitation cases
- Managed over 40 complex audits and transactions involving sizeable intellectual property portfolios
