AMBASSADORS, as a collaborative partner of the XIV Judicial Forum of the Ukrainian Bar Association, participated in this significant event, which attracted nearly fifty participants and became one of the year's largest professional platforms for discussing critical issues in the development of the justice system.
Tetiana Ohneviuk, a partner and head of the dispute resolution practice at AMBASSADORS, participated in the forum. During a panel discussion alongside representatives from the High Council of Justice, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, and the National School of Judges of Ukraine, Tetyana delivered a presentation titled "Restitutio in integrum for a candidate for a judge: Is it really possible to restore a lost right in a competitive procedure?"
The choice of this topic was fitting, given that Tetiana Ohneviuk leads a practice specializing in representing judges and candidates in the Supreme Court regarding disputes with the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine and the High Council of Justice. Therefore, addressing effective methods of legal protection in personnel procedure appeals is highly relevant.
A key message of the discussion highlighted the need to establish strategic balances within competitive procedures. This included the tension between the transparency of open processes and candidates' right to privacy, as well as the balancing of thorough case consideration with the need for prompt restoration of violated rights in competitive procedures.
The Judicial Forum of the Ukrainian Bar Association serves as a platform for inter-institutional communication among lawyers on issues that advance Ukraine's journey toward the ideals of a rule of law. AMBASSADORS is proud to be part of this proactive professional community and to contribute to vital discussions regarding the development of the Ukrainian justice system.
